Doro has recently conducted recordings for her new single, Celebrate, in Bochum, Germany with a specially invited crowd of fans who formed a choir to guest on the track.

Album recording is in full swing and from early reports this looks set to be one of Doro's greatest albums to date. UK fans may get a preview of new material when Doro performs live at Hard Rock Hell in December.

Devil's GIft News

Source: Devil's Gift

Taken from press release:

'Devil's Gift singer Lennon Murphy is currently defending her right to use her own name for performances after Yoko Ono has filed a legal suit against her.

Despite originally giving her blessing for the singer/songwriter to use her name in a professional capacity eight years ago, Yoko Ono has bizarrely and suddenly decided that Lennon’s use of her own name is “tarnishing” her former husband John Lennon’s name, and that Murphy is intentionally exploiting the name to confuse people and increase the profile of her band.

““I'm not sure what confusion I could be causing since I don't have the $50,000 to hire a lawyer and fight this.

If people were confusing me with John Lennon and accidentally buying my records I should have more than enough money to live my life and hire a lawyer?

Lennon is my first name by birth and I am regularly asked if I was named after the Beatle, having always replied no. My mother named me after "John Lennon that wrote songs, painted, and baked bread with his son". She named me for the man, not the pop star.”

How this pans out is yet to be seen. In the meantime, Lennon is gearing up for the release of the debut Devil's Gift album, a collaboration between herself and famed Metal producer Jason Suecof.

Devils Gift is released on 13 October 2008 via Tiefdruck Music. The band will hit the road as support to Blessed By a Broken Heart in the UK in December:
