This is the second release from Brazilian melodic metallers Almah. The band was formed by Angra’s Edu Falaschi so anyone who is into them will know what to expect from the vocals, if not it involves some very clear and sometimes high vocals but never venturing into the high pitched regions!!

The songs tend to flit from sounding a bit like Rhapsody to Hammerfall and a few in between. It makes the album as a whole sound rather inconsistent and would have benefited from sticking to a more focussed direction overall. The track Torn veers off more into the metalcore genre which is a bit surprising, another example of how things occasionally don’t quite gel together.

There are some standout moments when proceedings take a heavier turn, especially in the title track itself that packs quite a punch throughout.

This is probably quite an acquired taste for fans of power metal as there are lots of fast and thunderous parts with the double bass pedal going hell for leather and many slower ballad type moments.

Definitely an interesting mix and would be worth picking up if you are a fan of the aforementioned bands.
