CD: Clever Disguise Demo
|
Neonfly are being hailed in some circles as the next big thing on the UK melodic metal scene and have released a five track demo CD to introduce everyone to their grandiose sound.
They have classic Maiden-esque riffs with pounding drums and huge synths sounds, and their catchy and huge choruses have you jigging along almost immediately. There are plenty of guitar rock solos, and melodic sing-a-long choruses, and some tongue in cheek humour.
The second track Broken Wings sees guest vocals by rock legend Tony Mills (ex-Shy, TNT). I’m won over at the end of this track as there’s a key change. Class.
Neonfly describe their sound as bombastic and powerful. On the whole it is, although sometimes I want the vocals of Tamás Csemez to be a bit stronger and deeper. I’m not sure it’s strong enough to compete with the likes of Edguy and Sonata Arctica in the top league just yet, but as a first demo this is pretty good stuff.
