Deathstars to Release Night Electric Night / New Video Online
Source: Deathstars
Taken from press release:
After three years it's finally here, The long awaited follow-up album to the massively successful Termination Bliss, and it's a bomb-blast of depression, death, sex and rock. Night Electric Night is tough and black, yet seductive and passionate. By expanding structures and using even more varied elements, the Deathglammers have strengthened and deepened the richness in their trademark of superdark rock.
Guitarist, songwriter and producer Nightmare Industries takes a drag on his cigarette and leans forward.
“This album is the very mirror of our last years and our struggle through this time up until now. It deals with a whole spectrum of emotions, but without loosing that straight forward nerve of raw dark feverish rock music a la Deathstars. Even though the songs vary more now, from the ripping Night Electric Night to the seriousness in Via the End, which I wrote the very night I found out about my brothers suicide, it holds an honest consequence right through the album”
On 2 February 2009 , there will not only be the standard version of the new Deathstars record Night Electric Night but also the deluxe package called Gold Edition including two bonus tracks as well as a bonus DVD featuring six video clips, making of and more…
The Gold Edition will be released as a Digi-Book with a new coverartwork.

Edguy Back to the UK and Message From Tobi
Source: Edguy
Edguy will be heading out on tour early next year in support of their new album Tinnitus Sanctus and they will be playing the following UK shows:
09.01.2009 JB's, Dudley
10.01.2008 Carling Academy, Islington, London
Tobi has also posted the following message to fans on the site:
'Hey folks, this message is dedicated to our fans all over the world, the real fans. The people that I really care about! The people who are really taken by the music that we write and record. I never really cared too much about what people expect and I used to get very angry about people who give us flak for just following the path we do. That's not because I do not care, that's because it is the only way to stay honest to myself - and to you! Although we have had higher chart positions in the past - due to strong other mainstream releases coming out these days - Tinnitus Sanctus seems to be our strongest selling album to date - looking at the figures - which is amazing looking at the general situation of the music market.
I wanna thank all you people out there for supporting us. I know it's not very fashionable to like us these days, a lot of people call us a sell-out, a pop band (which is ridiculous bullshit) and whatever. All I can do is play the music that I feel, no matter if it sells or not. I met Alice (Cooper) a few days ago and he told me how much he loves The Scarecrow, I've talked to many Edguy fans recently and they told me how much they enjoy the Tinnitus Sanctus album and how much it means to them. And I am sure this wouldn't be the case if we'd record a copy of any of our previous albums. I wanna make sure that you - our true fans with brain and heart - know how much it means to me, when you love the music, and that's got nothing to do with sales. I will always be honest and I'd rather quit playing music than following the fools who don't understand what we do. Thank you and have a wonderful pre-christmas time. We are right now preparing for the world tour and I can't wait to hit the road with my Edguy fellows again. I am sorry we won't play many festivals in 2009, but we are preparing our own big stage show right now and I think it's better for our fans to bring a big production ourselves than adjusting it to a festival stage. I am sure we will have a blast in January / February.
Love you, Tobi'

2008:
December
Interview: Tobias Sammet // Edguy / Avantasia
January 2009

"You can’t describe it. I’d say it’s great music, it’s great music with good melodies. It’s guitar driven music. I’ve just been asked if we would consider doing an acoustic album and I said it’s like asking Ronnie James Dio if he’d consider doing an instrumental album!! It’s something you just don’t do as a rock band (laughs), doing an acoustic album! "

Bloodstock // Feature
12 September 2008
"The first time I ever attended Bloodstock was back in 2003 where the headliner was a relatively unknown female fronted band from Finland called Nightwish so it’s perhaps fitting that the first Bloodstock I attend for MusicXtra is headlined by the now altogether well known Nightwish.
Obviously in the past five years both the festival and the headlining band have undergone many changes, not least the demise of the Indoor Bloodstock festival at Derby’s Assembly Rooms in favour of the much larger outdoor festival that BOA has become."
