This three piece have been kicking about since 2001 and with this new release it looks like it might be the one that really gets them noticed!

One of the first things that stands out about this album is that they aren’t trying to sound like anyone else which is always a plus point and the other is just how ridiculously contagious some of the tunes are. Honestly, it would take an act of superhuman strength to stop oneself singing along to Mercury and Figurine or at least humming them for the rest of the day!

Luckily this is the running theme, the whole album is really very enjoyable, and it doesn’t fall into any particular genre either: a bit of hard rock, grunge maybe, some gothic elements as well at times. Grog (who is female for those not in the know) has a very strong voice that has a really edgy feel to it with the odd hint of Siouxie Sioux at times or even reminiscent of Drain STH, but definitely with her own style.

The music itself is very varied and really based around the songs as opposed to any unnecessary faffing around, just good solid song writing with a nice mix of melody and the odd guitar solo which just adds a nice finishing touch here and there.

It would be a crime to not give this album a try. It’s not often these days something that is so instantly enjoyable and also sticks in the memory comes out.
