Five Finger Death Punch have been around since 2005 and have had one previous album, The Way of the Fist.
This short sampler from the new album features two songs, the first of which is Hard to See. In terms of style it is similar to Disturbed with industrial style riffs being dominated by a strong lead vocal.
The second track is an interesting cover version of Bad Company’s Bad Company, one of the all time rock classics, given a metal makeover. The cover has more urgency and aggression than the original. It’s a good, brave effort on a classic, and it’s well done.
Having a listen to the samples from their website reveals a more hardcore approach to what they do, similar to Atreyu and Avenged Sevenfold.
Based on these samples, the full album will be worth a listen, however it’s always worth remembering that these are likely to be the strongest tracks from the album, so if you plan to base a purchasing decision on the standard of these songs, think again, ‘cos they won’t all be a good as these teasers. Then again, you may think it’s worth it just for that cover song.
