Swiss hard rockers Sideburn release their seventh studio album, Jail, at the end of February and, despite it not being anything a handful of bands haven't done before, there's really not a bad track on the record!
Founded from metal band, Genocide, Sideburn's roots have helped shape a raw sound for Jail that will sit it nicely in any rock collection whilst they've made their way from heavy metallers to a set of riff-orienated and booze-inspired, hard rockers who also write a lot of AC/DC worthy anthems. There's no denying their admiration for the Australian legends, so if you don't like AC/DC then you're probably not going to warm to these guys. The album boasts everything, except originality, but check it out for a mixture of all you want in classic rock and a healthy dose of fantastic solos.
With an impressive list of support slots, including Def Leppard, Dio, Motörhead and Thin Lizzy, they've secured themselves respect in the rock world and Jail's twelve songs of pure rock will solidify this. Airbourne seem to have territory over the AC/DC Jr spot, but it would definitely be suited in the hands of Sideburn.
