Babylon is W.A.S.P.s fourteenth studio album. The album is based around the visions of The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, taking inspiration from the state of the world and its comparison to biblical writing. Being unhappy with global economics, the American administration and general state of the planet has fueled his political fire.
Whilst Blackie Lawless is now the only remaining original member of the band he still manages to inject the classic W.A.S.P. sound that fans have always loved. Nothing new or original here but any fan will be sure to embrace it however it is unlikely to win over any new followers.
Stand out tracks are Crazy, Thunder Red and strangely a unique take on Chuck Berry’s Promised Land which, on paper, shouldn’t work but strangely seems to.
It seems that one of rock’s most distinguishable voice has stepped further away from the sex and drugs lifestyle and replaced it with polictics, but still good old rock'n'roll.
